The short version
About North Goa
North Goa is a city in Goa.
North Goa runs from the Mandovi river up to the Maharashtra border, and it holds the state capital, Panaji, along with the Bardez beach belt — Calangute, Baga, Candolim, Anjuna and Vagator — and the quieter northern sands at Morjim and Siolim. Inland are the temple town of Ponda, the old capital at Old Goa with its churches, and the Saturday market at Mapusa. It is the busier half of Goa.
North Goa is best known for Calangute, Fort Aguada and Anjuna. Most visitors give it 6–8 days.
It combines well with Agonda, Anjuna, Assagao and Baga, all within a day of North Goa.
