Cookie Policy

Last updated

Five cookies do real work here: one remembers your ad choice, one keeps you signed in, one counts visits, two come from Google's ad network. Advertising cookies are set only if you accept them — and you can change that choice in one click below.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It comes back to the site on the next request. Cookies cannot run programs, cannot read other files on your device, and cannot identify you by themselves — they carry an identifier that a server recognises. We also use similar technologies (localStorage, pixels) which this policy covers.

2. What we set

NameTypeLastsWhat it does
tti_ad_consentPreference180 daysRemembers whether you accepted or declined advertising cookies, so we do not ask on every page.
Session cookieEssentialSessionKeeps you signed in to your account and protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
_ga, _ga_*Analytics14 monthsGoogle Analytics. Distinguishes visitors with a random id so we can count visits without identifying you.
__gads, __gpiAdvertising13 monthsSet by Google AdSense to measure ad reach and prevent the same ad repeating.
IDE / DoubleClickAdvertising13 monthsSet by Google to serve and personalise ads based on your visits to this and other sites.

Essential cookies cannot be switched off — the site does not function without them. Analytics and advertising are optional.

3. Advertising cookies

We show ads supplied by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and others. Without those cookies, ads still appear — they are simply not personalised.

An AdSense script is loaded only after you accept advertising. If you decline, our server never returns an ad unit for your session; the space stays empty. That is enforced on the server, not just hidden in the page.

You can opt out of personalisation without touching this site:

4. Change your choice

Your choice is stored for 180 days. You can change it at any time — withdrawing consent is deliberately as easy as giving it.

Reading your stored choice…

Brings the consent bar back on the next page load.

This does not delete analytics cookies already set — your browser settings do that, and the instructions are further up this page.

5. Blocking cookies in your browser

Every major browser lets you refuse or delete cookies:

Blocking essential cookies will break sign-in and checkout. Blocking everything and then wondering why a booking will not complete is the most common way people lose ten minutes on this site.

“Do Not Track” is a browser signal we do not act on, because there is no agreed standard for what it should mean. Use the controls above instead.

6. Where to read more

The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights under the DPDP Act. Questions about cookies: contact@thetripindia.com.
