- Photo ID and the entry permit — checked on arrival, and essential to board the ship or flight
- Modest clothing for the island villages; beachwear stays on the resort islands
- Snorkelling gear if you have it; the lagoon is swimmable straight off the beach
Important notes
An entry permit is required for every visitor, arranged before travel.,FOREIGN NATIONALS are restricted to Agatti, Bangaram, Kadmat, Kavaratti and Kalpeni. Minicoy, Andrott, Amini, Kiltan and Chetlat are closed to them.,Alcohol is prohibited throughout Lakshadweep. The single exception is Bangaram.,Only Agatti has an airport. Every other island is reached by ship from Kochi, which takes 14 to 20 hours, or by helicopter or seaplane in season. Inter-island ferries stop in the monsoon.
