  • Socks or slip-on shoes — most temples are barefoot entry
  • Modest clothing for the temples; at Puri the Jagannath temple itself is closed to non-Hindus
  • Binoculars for Chilika — the dolphins are seen at a distance and the lagoon is a bird site in winter
