Periyar Tiger Reserve Nature Walk Day Trip

Away from the lake and the boats, the Periyar Tiger Reserve runs guided nature walks with guides drawn from the local Mannan and Paliyan communities, who have worked these forests for generations. The walks are small, quiet and mostly about birds, butterflies, tracks and trees rather than large animals — and they take you into a part of the reserve day visitors never see.
