Chandragiri Fort, built in the 17th century, sits above the Chandragiri river where it meets the sea. The Malik Dinar Juma Masjid at Thalangara is said to have been founded in the 7th century by Malik Ibn Dinar, who brought Islam to the Malabar coast — among the oldest mosques in the country.
