Chikmagalur Mullayanagiri & Coffee Estate Day Trip

Chikmagalur

Mullayanagiri is the highest point in Karnataka at 1,930 metres, reached by a road and then a short climb, with the whole of the Western Ghats laid out below on a clear day. Baba Budangiri, a few kilometres along the ridge, is where coffee is said to have been first planted in India — the beans were brought by a Sufi saint, Baba Budan, from Yemen, and the hills are still covered in estates.
