Shish Gumbad
Shish Gumbad, also spelt Shisha Gumbad, is a tomb from the Lodi dynasty located in New Delhi's Safdarjung neighbourhood. It was possibly constructed between 1489 and 1517 CE, with historian Simon Digby suggesting completion in 1494 CE based on an inscription in the adjoining mosque. The tomb houses graves whose occupants remain unidentified, with theories suggesting it was dedicated to either an unknown Lodi family member from Sikandar Lodi's court or to Bahlul Lodi himself, founder of the Lodi dynasty. This historic monument offers a glimpse into Delhi's Sultanate era and is a worthwhile visit for history enthusiasts exploring the city's rich heritage.
