Day 1
Cochin – Alleppey
Arriving at cochin international airport /railway station, proceed to Alleppey. Drive to Alleppey and reach by afternoon. Check into the houseboat and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure on the backwaters. Stay overnight at the Houseboat.
Day 2
Alleppey – Cochin
Enjoy a lazy morning in the hotel. After breakfast, check out from houseboat and proceed to Cochin by road. Enjoy City tour of Cochin –
- Half Day Cochin Island Tour
- Visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace – (closed on Fridays and public holidays), which was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and renovated by the Dutch in 1663.
- Visit the Jewish Synagogue-(closed on all Saturdays and Jewish holidays) in Jew Town Fort Cochin Area. There are a couple of streets of picture-postcard houses out of another age.
- Visit St. Francis Church – (closed for visitors on Sundays from 08.00 to 11.00 hrs) the oldest European Church in India. It has several antiquities including a wealth of records.
- Chinese Fishing Nets, along the tip of Fort Cochin unique to this part of Kerala and living symbols of a centuries-old Chinese influence on this coast.
Later in the Afternoon, Drop off to the Railway station / Airport for the onward Journey.

The entire experience was fabulous, Beautiful houseboat with all amenities , The boat takes through the entire lake for almost a 2 hour cruise journey and then in the evening it settles down near the shore, It is beautiful experience to spend the entire night on the houseboat, everything was great except that they didn't serve enough food, although the food quality and service was great, the quantity offered was less than required, overall a must and different experience for the Kerala trip

We took this boat ride as group of around 25 ppl. The boat had two common areas (one on the top floor)and one bed room. It was neatly maintained. We left in the morning and came back by evening. They serve you an awesome lunch with Black Pearl fish and other dishes from Kerala cuisine. We also bought some toddy and prawns when we stopped somewhere and this just added to the atmosphere in the boat. Keep an eye on your kids as they might get too excited about the water around. After leaving from the boat, we visited the Alappuzha beach as well. So all in all a good day on the waters.

recommended to stay overnight then to do a day tour. please do remember that small boats ( 1-2) bedrooms dont have upperstory balcony and are not much spacious. they tend to move more with waves sideways. i stayed in 4 bedroom boat with overhead balcony. try to be at upper deck to avoid day temperature. upper deck gives much better view and breeze. food at house boat is decent local food. they stop at evening to let you purchase a sea food from island shop. thats the scam, i bought lobster for 1800/- when same was available on licious for 1000/- only. ask for shikara ride at evening and houseboat will arrange it for ~1K.shikara will come to your houseboat for pickup/ drop. shikara ride is recommended to get glimpse of local village life.
